IN DEDICATION

This classbook is dedicated to two departed members of the class, 1st Lt. Gerald B. Leavey Jr. who died 14 January 1959 and 2nd Lt. Richard G. Fry who died 15 October 1958. These men died in the service of their country on routine training missions.

We are apt to say 'tis a pity that they should have died so young. This seems true. And yet these men, in their short lives, gave themselves in service. It is better to have lived a short life of service than a long life of selfishness.

May we dedicate ourselves in our lives to service. May we, whether we live a long or short life, live it in service to our God, our fellow man, and our country.

GERRIT B. DOKTER Chaplain (1st Lt.), USAF
