The First International Agricultural Aviation Conference which is wound up by this report can be regarded as a milestone in the development of agricultural aviation. It was not the first agricultural aviation conference, but it was the first of a truly international character. Some 250 delegates from 26 different countries of all parts of the globe had come to Cranfield to exchange views and to acquaint themselves with the latest developments in the scientific, technical and operational fields. The conference has been organized at the invitation and with the active assistance of the European Agricultural Aviation Centre (now called: International Agricultural Aviation Centre) at The Hague. In preparing the conference the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of the U.K. has had the invaluable assistance and practical support of other British Government departments, scientific, trade and other associations. The success of the First International Agricultural Aviation Conference is mainly due to this joined effort of our British colleagues in Government and industry.
