The S.A. Air Force Golden Jubilee Souvenir Book has been produced in the year of the S.A. Air Force's Fiftieth Anniversary for a twofold purpose. Firstly to tell, in a summarised form, something of the remarkable growth of the S.A. Air Force during its first half century, and secondly to provide a medium for a subscription to the S.A. Air Force Fund on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee. As such, it is not a comprehensive official history, but a brief chronicle commemorating the achievements of the S.A. Air Force.
Die S.A. Lugmag se Goue Jubileumgedenkboek is by geleentheid van die S.A. Lugmag se vyftigste verjaarsdag uitgegee met 'n tweerlei doel : ten eerste om die S.A. Lugmag se merkwaardige groei gedurende die eerste halfeeu van sy bestaan opsommenderwys weer te gee, en ten tweede om, tydens die jaar van die Goue Jubileum, 'n geleentheid te skep om tot die S.A. Lugmagfonds by te dra. As sodanig is hierdie gedenkboek nie 'n omvattende, amptelike geskiedenis nie, maar 'n beknopte kroniek om die prestasies van die S.A. Lugmag te huldig.
