THE BENDIX NA — 3 VHF Omni-Directional Range Navigational System is an airborne equipment system designed to permit maximum utilization of the new Very High Frequency (VHF) radio facilities now being installed.
It provides facilities for: (1) Omni-Directional Range Navigation. (2) 90/150 Cycle Localizers. (3) New Phase Comparison ILS Localizer. (4) Two-course VHF Visual Ranges. (5) Tower Communication. (6) Company Communication. (7) Portion of Military Communication Band.
Bendix's years of experience in the design of airline radio equipment and in the design of equipment for the military services have contributed maximum reliability and ease of maintenance to the design of the equipment. The NA-3 Navigational System is the commercial counterpart of a system designed on contract for the Army Air Forces and therefore complies with military specifications as well as commercial airline specifications.
