Description

This is the fascinating story of the life of Sir Basil Embry, who is a legendary figure in the history of air power and the Second World War, as one of the first airman to return home after escaping from the Germans after the Battle of France, head of a nightfighter wing in the Battle of Britain, with the Desert Air Force with the 8th Army in Africa, fighting in Europe, and finally, the Commander-in-Chief Allied Air Forces, Europe at the time of his retirement in 1955.  The book is in very good condition;  the spine is tight, and the cover is clean with minor shelf wear including scuffing and/or bumping.  The pages are clear and easily readable with minor to moderate yellowing.  The dust jacket is price clipped with minor chipping and small tears, and is in very good condition.  Although published in England by Methuen, there is a Praeger Publusher sticker on the title page.  See the photographs.
