The Third International Agricultural Aviation Congress, by the wide interest which it aroused throughout the world, underlined the success of this series of events which began at Cranfield (UK) in 1959. Many of those who attended this first congress, and the second (held at Grignon in 1962), were also present at Arnhem. The event was even more international than its two predecessors; 80 per cent of the delegates came from outside the Netherlands, and 28 per cent from outside Western Europe. The number of countries represented was 26. The congress was organized jointly by the Netherlands Government, the Netherlands industry, and the International Agricultural Aviation Centre. The brunt of the burden of administrative work was borne most ably by the International Agricultural Centre, Wageningen. Arnhem proved a pleasant and congenial setting for the congress.
