Since it was created 80 years ago through Avions Fairey, Sonaca's flight plan was more than once adjusted in order to stay the course toward development. It is true that flight conditions have greatly changed and many a storm has come to disturb them, sometimes leading to difficult emergency landings; taking off again was often tricky, but successful every time, in an increasingly wide sky though heavy with ominous clouds. It is the story of this long, not that smooth, flight that is about to be told in this book and through it, the history of aviation as well. It is also a tribute to all those who piloted, maintained, modernized, extended this machine over time to make it ready for flight today and all set to face the new spaces that are opening to it, full of turbulences indeed, but with ever receding limits.
