Description

Asco, a belgian corporation based at Zaventem, next-door to Brussels airport, today claims wordls leadership in the field of high-strength metals for the aerospace industry. Its experience goes back to 1954, when it began supplying various parts if the National Defense. The turning point occured in 1979, when Asco began producing assemblies for aircrafts of the Airbus family. Asco after became a supplier, and sometimes a partner of the world's leading aircraft manufacturers, such as Boeing, Bombardier, Northrop-Grumman and, of course Airbus. Patrick Anspach started his career as an aerospace journalist in 1977,when he was appointed chief editor of the Belgian magazine Aviasto (formerly Aviation & Astronautique). Denis Asselberghs has been a journalist for 25 years. He has been a member of Asco's communications team, it was therefore a pleasure for him to contribue to this book.
