Description

AIRCRAFT WITH BOTH CIVIL AND MILITARY MARKINGS

A number of British aircraft which have at one time carried civil registrations are now preserved in either flying or non - flying condition in Service markings. In some examples, the markings are those originally applied to the particular aircraft ; in others, the aircraft have been restored to represent a typical period in the life of the type in question, but the serial number now carried is not that of the original airframe. As many as possible of the aircraft in this category, including a number of the exhibits at the Shuttleworth Trust and the embryo R.A.F. Museum, have been included again in proper registration sequence in this volume. ( ... )
