Belgian civil register 1981 – 82

This is the first edition of the present Belgian civil register published by the ‘AVIATION SOCIETY OF ANTWERP vzw’. After long research we have succeeded in compiling a recent register which is complete and up-to-date ! Even though Belgium is a small country, it possesses a large number of aeroplanes. Besides Cessna’s, Pipers, Beeches and other newer types there are still many older and rare types such as the Fiat G.46, MS.733, Cessna 140, 170 & 180, Nord NC.858, SV-4A/B/C, Navion, etc Mem the first part is the present Belgian aviation register, it includes all sports and business aeroplanes, helicopters, airliners, balloons, motor gliders and a few gliders.

The second part contains the gliders with the specific 00-Z. Registration.

The third part is the most detailed homebuilt-list ever published. This part asks for some more explanation. The homebuilts are indicated by 00-.0, followed by a number. This list includes all aircraft, built or still under construction. Some of them are written off, withdrawn from use or never finished. Some of the numbers have been used twice. This occurs when somebody asks for registration at the Administration of Aviation. If he never finishes his plane, the number will be allocated to someone else. Further foreign aircraft based in Belgium. Last but not least, an airfield – list of Belgium with some explanation of the planes you can see there, followed by a map with the exact situation of these airfields, and at last a list of the holders of an exploitation license.

This edition is an interesting acquisition for the buyer and will be uses full for research purposes. The last addition to the Belgian civil register appears in ‘Aeronews of Belgium’, the club magazine of the ‘AVIATION SOCIETY OF ANTWERP vzw.’
