Description
It might be thought that aircraft are a product in which a competitive market is impracticable. So it would seem from the practice of successive British governments. In this Hobart Paper, Mr Hartley contends the contrary. After a close analysis of the conditions of demand for military and civil aircraft and of the conditions of their supply, he concludes that aircraft for the RAF and for British « public » airways are not produced more economically if the market were permitted to be, and were made, more competitice. And he argues. Keith Hartley, Senior Lecturer in Economics, University of York.
